What Makes Us Special?

We love what we do!

We brought the very first Australian Labradoodle to Scotland over 20 years ago and have been doing what we love ever since.

Over these years we have had the joy of homing our puppies to loving families not just in the UK but around the world.

We stick to a specific code of ethics and are committed to responsible breeding at every turn.

As well as amazing family pets, many of our dogs have went on to become Assistance dogs and therapy dogs working in Schools, Hospitals and care homes.

We are incredibly passionate about this breed and are committed to doing things the right way. This means that all of our breeding boys and girls are fully health tested and only the very best are chosen to go forward in our programme.

We have regular checks on our facilities by Argyll & Bute council and have held a license for over 20 years.

As responsible and ethical breeders we stick to a code of ethics! You can read more about this below.

This is our full time job and when we say “full time” we mean it! It is 24 hours a day 7 days a week and although it is very hard work we absolutely love it. We invest all of our time into our dogs and puppies as we truly believe they are a special breed and we are committed to their development individually and as a breed.

We have carefully chosen our Australian Labradoodle blood lines from around the world (mainly from Australia, Canada, USA, Germany and Sweden) ensuring genetic diversity from the best lines possible. We do not “in breed” or “line breed” our labradoodles. Importing new studs or Dams is an expensive investment but one that we prioritise as this ensures the best possible diversity in our lines and progression of the breed.

Our Goal is to protect the future of the Australian Labradoodle. To uphold a breed standard for confirmation, temperament, colour and coat type. Sustain and improve the health of the Australian Labradoodle and provide a source of information to support prospective owners in making sound purchase decisions. We only breed from those Studs and Dams who have the best health test results.

We provide support to our adoptive families for the life of their Australian Labradoodle. We are always on hand to provide help and support such as feeding, training and health queries. We do love to receive photos and updates from our past puppy families and regularly keep in touch. Our responsibility as breeders does not end when you collect your puppy and as such you will have our full dedication for the lifetime of your labradoodle.

We give our puppies the best possible start. Our pups are handled each and every day from the time they are born. When puppies are first born their eyes are not open yet, making touch the most important sense as well as smell. The handling of each puppy every day also makes it easier for us to determine each of our puppy’s individual characters and temperaments to better understand their needs as they grow and develop. Australian Labradoodle puppies crave human companionship and we ensure they get plenty of love and attention!

One of the reasons we began breeding ALDs was due to a close family member having bad allergic reactions to other dogs. The ALD turned out to be the perfect solution!

We have since helped many families find the perfect puppy, even those with asthma and allergies to dogs. Because Australian Labradoodles have low shedding coats with less dander they can do well with families who are more sensitive to dogs that shed hair. Of course it will depend on the individual but the success rate of the Australian labradoodle has been high.

Our Breeding Australian Labradoodle boys and girls are fully health tested. Our Labradoodles are Hip scored, elbow scored, BVA eye tested and Pra-prcd DNA eye tested at a minimum. Our dogs are also DNA profiled so they are who we say they are. We will only ever breed from the very best fully health tested Labradoodles.

Our Labradoodle puppies leave us with , full veterinary health check. Our puppies are also wormed up to date with Panacur and give their 1st vaccinations. Our puppies are spay/neutered before they leave us or on a spay/neuter contract. Because we are confident that we have done everything possible to ensure the health of our puppies we also give all our pups a 2 year genetic health guarantee.

Our Guarantee Against Abandonment

At Tora’s Australian labradoodles we believe responsible breeders are the key to solving both the over population and abandonment of dogs. Reasons for abandonment include lack of responsibility, unexpected litters and poor animal health/ behaviour.
